2021: Design Odyssey
Exploring the Hero's Journey
Originating from Homer’s epic poetry, an odyssey is a journey in which a hero ventures forth from the ordinary world of the common day, into the realm of mystery and wonder. Design can also be viewed as an odyssey, wherein a designer dives into the sphere of complexity and uncertainty, assimilates insights, and surfaces with profound ways of responding to problematic situations. In this webinar, drawing insights from mythology and analytical psychology, we explored the archetypal hero’s journey as a rich source of inspiration for designers in their design odysseys. This webinar provides a timeless lens through which you can take a fresh look at design, and redefine your role as a designer.
Service Design Network New York Chapter Systemic Design as a Multi disciplinary Paradigm
Service Design Network’s New York Chapter is one of the most active local chapters of the service design discipline’s leading organization, and we were humbled by their invitation. Together with them, we explored the Systemic Design paradigm as an intersection between Systems Thinking, Depth Psychology and Mythology. We also examined how Systemic Design can turn designing into a holistic and dynamic undertaking that is a conduit for intuition, imagination and creativity, and dives deep into the human dimension to understand and transform mental models of users and the designers.
